Applications have now closed. The Award is supported by the Emdash Foundation, a new organisation that aims to encourage and enable the ideas of the future, from artistic and cultural projects to scientific research.
Entrance to the 2011 Emdash award is by open submission and the winner will be selected by an international panel of artists and curators. The winner will receive a commission to make a new work to be shown at Frieze Art Fair 2011, an artist’s fee, a production budget of £10,000 and a three-month residency at Gasworks in London. The Emdash Foundation will provide the opportunity for a presentation of the winning artist’s work during Gallery Weekend Berlin 2012.
